The Auranaut is Graham Dear - Born in Portsmouth U.K
After attending at the First U.K Based S.A.E. course (School of Audio Engineering) and after a full apprenticeship as a jobbing Recording Engineer at facilities in and around the U.K, London and the U.S.A.
Soon after this period Graham started to write and collaborate with other songwriters. This in turn secured various publishing and recording contracts to various independent and major record labels. During this period Graham met Richard Sullivan an up and coming sound engineer and producer working at Westside Studios and from that point started to collaborate on what became PowerCircle in 1991. By this time, Graham was resident engineer at a private client recording facility at Burhill Park, near Walton on Thames. Thanks to the support of the owner, Graham and Rich were able to collaborate on further Power Circle productions throughout 1991-1994.
Power Circle were signed first to M&G Records and then Deep Distraxion, part of the Edel Records Group. From Burhill Park, Power Circle moved the studio, taking space above Swag Records, a leading independent dance music retailer in West Croydon, Surrey.
Ironically, although Power Circle"s most creative period effectively diminished from 1994, an accapella vocal from "A little Love" was combined with Chicane"s "Offshore" to become "Offshore 97" in 1997. This reached number 17 in the Pop Charts and was included on 15 or more dance compilations of the year, including Ministry of Sound Annual 3.
From 1994 onwards, what had started as remix explorations in trance and ambient genres for Power Circle became the central focus for Graham, and "The Auranaut" was born.
The Auranaut has had a number of releases and been involved extensively with collaborations and remixes, including Excession Records,Ministry of Sound, Positiva, Plink Plonk, Disruptive Pattern, Edel, Barracuda Records, and many more. Paul Oakenfold Sacha and John Digweed are amongst the notable DJs who have been early champions of The Auranaut"s releases.
The Auranaut continues to write and produce high quality recordings, based from his studio facility in the U.K
